Participant dossier / Alone Season 1

Mitch Mitchell

Season 1 background: Bushcraft educator and Native Survival founder · Bellingham, Massachusetts, United States

Before the island.

Mitch learned fishing and traditional skills from his father and grandfather. Scouting added fire craft, knots, navigation and first aid to that foundation. He arrived with a strong interest in teaching and making practical outdoor equipment.

What happened in Season 1.

After 43 days, family priorities overtook the reason to remain. His mother was seriously ill, and he wanted to be present. The decision is better understood in that context than reduced to a ranking of technical survival ability.

Why the journey ended

Chose to return to his mother, who had cancer

After the cameras.

● Qualified evidence

The November 2026 research check.

Mitch's public body of work is preserved through Native Survival and Bushcraft and a detailed 2018 interview covering his school, gear designs and navigation teaching. A public video index also records channel uploads in 2026, but that index is secondary evidence. We did not verify a 2026 course calendar, an active storefront or his present residence.

Dated evidence reviewed: Mar 21, 2018
Research checked: November 3, 2026
Latest fully inspected dated primary interview. A secondary index lists 2026 uploads, but playback was not independently reviewed.
