Visiting the website
Our hosting provider, Hostinger, processes technical connection and request information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include your IP address, request time, requested address, browser information and error or security records. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website. Logs are kept under the hosting service’s operational and security retention arrangements; the period depends on the log type and any incident or legal preservation requirement. We use these records for delivery, security and troubleshooting, not advertising profiles. You can contact us for information about a particular request.
The public website does not require an account. We do not currently take course bookings or payments. If you email us, we process your address and the information you send to answer your request. We rely on our legitimate interest in responding, or steps at your request before a contract where applicable. We normally keep resolved correspondence for up to 12 months, unless an ongoing matter, legal obligation or legal claim requires longer. Please avoid sending sensitive health information.
Your privacy choices
Optional analytics starts only after you agree to Analytics in our cookie controls. “Reject optional” leaves analytics off and keeps the site available. Silence, scrolling and browsing are not consent. You can change or withdraw your choice through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawal stops future analytics collection; it does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. You can also request deletion of personal data already held, where applicable.
A necessary preference cookie remembers your choice, its time and the notice revision for up to 182 days. It is used to apply your preference and is not an advertising profile. See the Cookie Policy for storage details.
Optional analytics
With your consent, Google Analytics 4, delivered through Google Tag Manager, helps us understand traffic sources, useful pages and training discovery. It can process pseudonymous browser identifiers, page paths, campaign labels, approximate geographic information, device/browser information and actions such as selecting a country, opening a skill page or following a training provider’s website. A provider-link click does not establish that you made a booking. The legal basis is your consent.
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, free text searches, precise location or private administration activity in analytics events. We strip unrelated query parameters and URL fragments from the page addresses sent to analytics, and limit referrers to the referring origin. We do not combine your activity across CompareSurvival, CompareGrowth and AreteAIOS. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Event and user data retention in GA4 is two months; aggregated reports can have different retention. Analytics cookies are configured for up to 60 days without extending that period on each activity. We do not use session recordings or advertising pixels in this edition.
Maps, location and external links
The initial globe uses locally served geographic data. If you turn on Street detail, your browser connects to OpenFreeMap to request map tiles and related assets. If you turn on satellite imagery, it connects to NASA’s imagery service. Those services receive technical connection information such as your IP address and the requested map resources. These layers are requested by your action and are separate from Analytics consent. You can use the local map or list instead.
“Use my location” asks for your browser’s permission. Coordinates are used in page memory to estimate distances to listed teaching areas; our code does not save them or send them to analytics or our server. Map view requests to an enabled external map layer can reveal the area being viewed. The browser or device location service has its own privacy arrangements. Map markers show approximate areas, not verified meeting points. Provider websites and other external links open separate services with their own policies.
Service providers and international processing
Hostinger provides public website hosting. Google provides the optional analytics and tag delivery services. Cloudflare provides DNS and services for our separate private administration area; public DNS currently uses DNS-only records. The private administration area is excluded from public analytics. We do not sell personal data.
Google’s analytics service can process data in the United States and other countries, including through subprocessors. Its data processing terms and international transfer arrangements describe contractual safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Hostinger’s Data Processing Addendum describes its processing and subprocessor arrangements, including international transfers. These safeguards do not make foreign law identical to EEA law. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data or to request a copy. Turning off Analytics prevents the optional Google measurement from loading on future visits.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. Write to egils@areteaios.com. We may need proportionate information to verify a request; do not send identity documents unless requested through an appropriate channel. You can complain to Latvia’s Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija) or another competent supervisory authority. We do not make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Changes
We update this notice when our practices change and show the effective date above. New optional purposes require the appropriate choice before collection starts.
