Same broad region, different sites.
A temperate coastal environment links the two published seasons. That does not make their drop sites, weather, food access, daylight or equipment rules identical.
The original Mike Lowe biography identifies northern Vancouver Island. The season’s episode guide also describes the Vancouver Island setting. A precise filming start date is not asserted in this edition.
Broadcast dates are not field dates.
The competition’s US broadcast ran April 21–July 14, 2016. Those dates must not be used as the season in which the expedition took place.
