Known as Angery American, Chris was an established writer with more than two decades of bushcraft and preparedness practice. His interests included traditional archery and gathering wild foods.

After approximately 36 hours, nearby wolves and the insecurity of being alone in an unfamiliar ecosystem exceeded the risk he was prepared to accept. Technical knowledge and the experience of that first night proved to be different tests.
