Season 1 background: Corrections officer and survival instructor · Blairsville, Georgia, United States
Raised in Georgia, Alan grew up building woodland shelters. He later studied edible and medicinal plants, combative skills and tactical medical care. He left his wife and children at home to test those skills in an unfamiliar coastal environment.
Alan made energy conservation a central part of his routine, gathering coastal food and finding ways to occupy long stretches of isolation. On Day 56, a visit presented as a medical check became the announcement that he was the last person remaining.
Winner
Alan's public work remains rooted in survival education. His own site advertises survival, preparedness and self-defense training. More recent dated evidence is an organizer's October 2026 schedule listing him to teach “Know More - Carry Less” in North Carolina. The schedule verifies the booking, not his attendance or his current home address.
